Water, Water Everywhere

Why, Sarah, you may ask, whatever are you doing with all those pitchers of water on your countertop?

And why ever would you have a dishpan and a sink full of water at the same time?
This is not usually where we keep our water.
Neither is this.  Why, we usually only get buckets like that out if there is a...
....water leak.
Then you might have to turn the water off for the better part of a night and day and then yes, it would be a good idea to stockpile some water in every receptacle you could find in the five minutes before the plumber turns the water off so that he can do this...
Talk about a show stopper!  We went to the library yesterday afternoon and got home just in time to make supper.  The girls scampered off to play while I got things started.  A few minutes later they came back all excited and asking if they could play in the waterfall.  I'm sorry, say what?!  It wasn't exactly a waterfall, but it was a good steady drip that hadn't been there before we left.  Needless to say, supper was a flop and our evening was totally hijacked by frantic phone calls and wait-and-see's.

Apparently, one of the pipes that had been worked on during our bathroom remodel "didn't hold the solder. " You don't say?  We were very glad to hear that the plumber could get to the problem area without tearing out any tile.  He came this morning and stopped the leak, set up some fans in the guest bedroom ceiling and will come back next week to repair the ceiling.  We are also very glad that this little rabbit trail is covered under the contractor's warranty and will cost us nothing.

Finally, I am very happy that the water is back on for I do so enjoy me a flushed potty and a humming dishwasher.  Enjoy your running water this weekend, friends.  It is a precious luxury.
